Cookie Policy
How Fieldwork uses cookies and similar technologies.
Last updated: 14 September 2026
This Cookie Policy explains how Fieldwork AI Inc. ("Fieldwork", "we", "us") uses cookies and similar technologies across our website at getfieldwork.ai (the "Site") and our product at app.getfieldwork.ai (the "Service"). It should be read with our Privacy Policy.
What cookies and similar technologies are
Cookies are small text files stored on your device by a website. "Similar technologies" include browser storage (localStorage and sessionStorage), pixels, and software development kits that store or access information on your device. We refer to all of these together as "cookies" in this policy.
Cookies can be first-party (set by the site you are visiting) or third-party (set by another provider). They can last only for a browsing session ("session cookies") or persist for a set period ("persistent cookies"). Some cookies are strictly necessary to provide a service you have asked for; others are non-essential (for example, analytics or advertising).
Our marketing website: analytics, ads measurement and referral tracking, with your consent
Our marketing Site at getfieldwork.ai sets no cookies until you allow it. On your first visit, analytics and advertising storage are switched off and a banner asks whether you are happy for us to set analytics, ads-measurement and referral cookies. Rejecting takes a single click, exactly like accepting, and if you reject we set none.
If you accept, we use Google Analytics 4 to understand which pages people find useful, and the Meta Pixel and LinkedIn Insight Tag to measure whether our advertising on those platforms brings people here:
| Cookie | Provider | Purpose | Type | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|---|
_ga | Third-party (Google) | Distinguishes visitors so we can count returning visits | Analytics - consent required | Persistent - 2 years |
_ga_9H6KGQEJQV | Third-party (Google) | Maintains analytics session state | Analytics - consent required | Persistent - 2 years |
_fbp, _fbc | Third-party (Meta) | Distinguishes visitors and records the Meta ad that brought them here, so we can measure our Meta ads | Advertising measurement - consent required | Persistent - 90 days |
li_fat_id, ln_or | Third-party (LinkedIn) | Distinguishes visitors so we can measure our LinkedIn ads | Advertising measurement - consent required | Persistent - 30 days |
Meta and LinkedIn may also set cookies on their own domains when their tags load; those are governed by their own cookie policies. These tags are loaded through Google Tag Manager and only after you accept.
The first-party cookies above are set for getfieldwork.ai and its subdomains, so your browser will also send them to app.getfieldwork.ai; we do not run analytics or advertising measurement inside the Service and they are not read there.
Until you accept - and permanently if you reject - Google Analytics runs in a cookieless mode: it records that a page was viewed and roughly where the visit came from, without storing or reading anything on your device and without an identifier that follows you between visits, and the Meta and LinkedIn tags do not load at all. We use Google Consent Mode, with advertising storage, ads user data and ads personalization switched off until you accept.
We store your answer on your device so that we do not have to ask on every page:
| Storage | Provider | Purpose | Type | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|---|
fw-cookie-consent (localStorage) | First-party (Fieldwork) | Remembers whether you accepted or rejected analytics and ads-measurement cookies | Strictly necessary | Persistent - 12 months, then we ask again |
Remembering your answer is strictly necessary - without it we could not honor a rejection - so we do not ask for consent to it.
Referral tracking
If you accept cookies and follow a referral link, the Service sets __Secure-fw_referral, an opaque, first-party referral identifier for getfieldwork.ai and its subdomains. It is Secure, HttpOnly, and SameSite=Lax, and expires 90 days after the first valid referral is captured. Later visits do not extend that expiry or replace that referral. You can withdraw consent through Cookie settings to remove the cookie. Without consent, referral information is carried in the links you follow, and you can enter a code before signing up. Once you register, attribution is recorded with your account and the first eligible new organization, independently of the cookie, to administer the discount and rewards.
Our product uses one strictly necessary cookie
When you sign in to the Service at app.getfieldwork.ai, we set a single first-party cookie to authenticate you and keep you signed in as you move between pages:
| Cookie | Provider | Purpose | Type | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|---|
__Secure-better-auth.session_token | First-party (Fieldwork) | Authentication and session management - securely keeps you signed in to the Service | Strictly necessary | Persistent - expires after 7 days or when you sign out |
This cookie is set with the Secure attribute (sent only over an encrypted HTTPS connection). It is essential to the operation of the Service: without it, you could not stay signed in. Because it is strictly necessary to provide the Service you have requested, we do not ask for your consent to it, in line with the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations (PECR) and equivalent EU rules.
Advertising measurement on the Site only, and only with consent
The Meta Pixel and LinkedIn Insight Tag described above are the only advertising technologies we use. They run on the marketing Site only, never inside the Service, and only after you accept; we use them to measure our own advertising on those platforms and do not sell or share information with third parties for their advertising. If we introduce any further non-essential cookies or similar technologies, we will update this policy and extend the consent mechanism to cover them first, so that you can accept or reject them - with rejecting as easy as accepting - before any such technology loads.
Managing and withdrawing consent
You can change your mind at any time: Cookie settings in the Site footer reopens the banner. Choosing Decline there stops analytics and ads-measurement cookies immediately and deletes any first-party ones already set.
You can also control and delete cookies through your browser settings, and set your browser to block them. Blocking the Service's session cookie will prevent you from signing in to and using the Service; blocking analytics cookies has no effect on how the Site works.
Changes
We will post changes to this policy here and update the "Last updated" date above. If we begin using further non-essential cookies, we will notify users and obtain consent as described above.
