Sort unsolicited sales and recruiting emails
Output
Eight unsolicited emails need separating from Harbor & Pine’s other mail: six sales pitches and two recruiting approaches received August 31 through September 13.
Proposed label: Unsolicited outreach. The label was not applied.
- Ada Fern: three sales emails offering additional textile services.
- Ellis Dune: three sales emails offering a ceramics subscription.
- Robin Vale: two recruiting emails about an operations role.
Existing order discussions were excluded. No customer requests were included. Six emails need no reply. Ada’s latest follow-up and Robin’s direct availability question warrant brief declines.
Two drafts are in Maya’s drafts folder. Nothing was sent. Their tone assumes Maya prefers a warm, direct response.
To Ada Fern, subject: Re: Textile services
Hi Ada,
Thanks for thinking of us. We’re not looking for additional textile services at Harbor & Pine, so we’ll pass.
Best, Maya
To Robin Vale, subject: Re: Operations role
Hi Robin,
Thanks for reaching out. I’m not considering a new role, so I’ll decline.
Best, Maya
Automation steps. The agent follows these 4 steps each time it runs, using your connected email and calendar.
- 1
Find unsolicited sales and recruiting emails from the last two weeks.
- 2
Label them so I can keep them separate from other mail.
- 3
Where a reply is needed, draft a short, polite decline in my usual tone.
- 4
Draft everything for my review and don't send anything until I approve it.
Adjust the automation in Chat
Run this automation and tell the agent what to do differently. Ask it to schedule that version if you want the changes in future runs.
- Exclude outreach from existing suppliers.
- Make declines one sentence long.
- Check only recruiting emails.
Fieldwork emails the scheduled report. Each email links to the full run as a conversation in Fieldwork. The automation asks the agent to keep a log in your knowledge base and read it before each run to check what has changed.
Adjustable schedule
Choose how often it runs at setup, from hourly to monthly. Ask in Fieldwork chat for a custom schedule and timezone.
Only useful reports
When nothing needs attention, the run skips the email. When there are findings, you get a report with a link to the full conversation.
Drafts for your review
Messages for other people wait in your own drafts folder. An automated run has no tool that sends, posts, or replies.
This automation reads your email and calendar. Connect Google Workspace or Microsoft 365 to Fieldwork. The automation uses whichever you connect.

Questions about this automation.
- How do I set this up?
- Connect an email and calendar account, such as Google Workspace, and activate the weekly automation. Weekly runs occur every seven days from activation, or you can run it in chat.
- Will it label emails or send replies?
- It proposes labels in the report because applying labels is unavailable. Replies stay in your mailbox drafts folder for review, and the automation cannot send them.
- Can I change what it checks?
- Ask in chat to change the two-week window, exclusions, or reply tone. Ask to schedule that adjusted version for future runs.
- Where does the report arrive?
- Scheduled runs email you the report with a link to the full conversation. When nothing needs attention, no email or push notification is sent.
