Draft my weekly team update

Output

Harbor & Pine’s weekly update is ready for Maya’s review. The main blocker is missing supplier lead times for the Fall buying plan.

Reviewed sent email, calendar entries, and email threads for September 7–13. The draft follows Maya’s brief, direct style in the available sent messages. Calendar entries alone were not treated as proof that work was completed.

Saved in Maya’s drafts folder. Nothing was sent.

Subject: Team update, September 7–13

Team,

Here’s where we ended the week.

Completed and decided

  • Owen confirmed the Portland fulfillment checklist is updated.
  • In the buying thread, Lena and I agreed to prioritize replenishment before adding new fall lines.

In progress

  • Lena is updating the Fall buying plan.
  • Theo is revising the September cash forecast around the proposed purchases.
  • Iris is pulling together the Returns review. The thread does not confirm it is finished.

Blocked or needing help

  • Supplier lead times are still missing, so purchase timing remains open. Lena, please confirm those before we finalize the plan.
  • Theo, please flag any cash constraints that would change the buying priorities.

No other blockers surfaced in this week’s reviewed threads.

Thanks, Maya

Automation steps. The agent follows these 4 steps each time it runs, using your connected email and calendar.

  1.   1

Use this week's sent email, calendar, and email threads to draft my team update.

  2.   2

Cover completed work and decisions, work in progress, and anything blocked or needing help.

  3.   3

    Use my usual tone.

  4.   4

Draft everything for my review and don't send anything until I approve it.

Adjust the automation in Chat

Run this automation and tell the agent what to do differently. Ask it to schedule that version if you want the changes in future runs.

  • Keep my update under 150 words.
  • Include only buying and fulfillment work.
  • Put requests for help at the top.

Fieldwork emails the scheduled report. Each email links to the full run as a conversation in Fieldwork. The automation asks the agent to keep a log in your knowledge base and read it before each run to check what has changed.

Adjustable schedule

Choose how often it runs at setup, from hourly to monthly. Ask in Fieldwork chat for a custom schedule and timezone.

Only useful reports

When nothing needs attention, the run skips the email. When there are findings, you get a report with a link to the full conversation.

Drafts for your review

Messages for other people wait in your own drafts folder. An automated run has no tool that sends, posts, or replies.

This automation reads your email and calendar. Connect Google Workspace or Microsoft 365 to Fieldwork. The automation uses whichever you connect.

Questions about this automation.

How do I set this up?
Connect your email and calendar, such as Google Workspace, then choose weekly delivery. Weekly runs happen every seven days from activation, or you can run it in chat on demand.
Does it send the update?
It reads sent email, calendar entries, and email threads, then saves the update in your drafts folder. It cannot send messages or change your calendar.
Can I change the format or tone?
Ask in chat for a shorter update, different sections, or a tone based on an example you provide. Ask to schedule that adjusted version for future weeks.
Where does the report arrive?
A scheduled run emails you the report with a link to the full conversation, while the team update waits in your drafts folder. If there is nothing to report, no email or push notification is sent.
